how are people routing their power steering lines? I did an e36 m3 steering rack and the hoses don't seem to match up to the stock power steering pump.

i have an e36 rack and i used a mix of e30/e36 and e46 lines lol. i also used the e46 cooling lines that sit in front of the rad. works well!Comment

I ran custom lines, removing the cooling circuit. The only one that I was able to keep was the feed line from reservoir --> pump...and even that one I had to trim shorter than normal.sigpic

all my e36 lines actually ended up fitting pretty well. there is a tiny bit of stress on the larger line going to the reservoir but thats about it. the pump to rack line fit a bit funny, i think i might change it later, but all i had to do was make sure it wasnt hitting anything when i tightened it down.Originally posted by I*Do*Werke View Post1989 E30 Zinnoberrot Vert 325i OBD1 S52 turbo;IPComment

I have the same setup as you.
e36 pressure line (pump to rack*)
the otherone is a frankenhose, stock fitting on the pump, hose clamp on the resevoir. The third (Resevoir to Rack) has the stock end for the bank bolt but both ends are hose clamped.No more e30s for me.

the high pressure hose from the e30 has a smaller banjo bold at the rack. Im pretty sure (someone correct me if i'm wrong please) the e30 hp banjo bolt is an M14 and the e36 hp banjo bolt is an M16.Originally posted by I*Do*Werke View Post

My bad, poor grammar on my part. What I meant to say was that the e36 pump to rack hose will not fit whatsoever. The hose is way too long and the bends make it very difficult to fit.
