    Lucky!

Yeah that is what i am planning on doing. I have it written all down already. its definitely a huge headache right now. Plus i have to go to portland till friday for work, which puts it on hold for a few days. Timing really sucks now that i figured all these problems out.

I'll update the thread when i get a chance. Thanks for the help!

      Update:
I've checked and re-checked my wiring and there Isnt anything missing or in the wrong place. I pulled out the back seat to get to the fuel pump. Traced the hot wire (green/violet) to fuse 11. I'm not getting power to the fuel pump. I know it works though. I Hooke it up to a battery and it just shot fuel out of the feed line.

I thought it might be grounding of my ecu so I ran a wire for ground. Changed nothing.

Made sure to check the wiring for the CEL and it was right. I'm still not getting a CEL when key is turned to on position. So my ECU isn't turning on.

Can anyone help my figure this out. Any suggestions on what I should check?

413 red label. Ecu, harness, and all sensors came out of a 1995 325is.

I was under the impression that any red label 413 ecu did not have EWS. Can someone verify this. And cmybimmer, where is the #66 wire you are talking about?

I'm not too sure about it, but my buddy who owns an independent bmw shop told me that just because its a red label doesnt necessarily mean it doesn't have ews. And the pin #66 wire on the x6000 (or whatever the connector to the ecu is called lol). I believe its a green wire, and I also heard its a black/silver or black/purple wire.

If you decide to cut it, cut so there's enough room to connect it back just in case (although I don't see why you'd need it anyway)

i looked at the x6000 and there aren't any corresponding numbers to pins. How am i supposed to tell which one is 66. also, is it possible to check if this has EWS or not?

There are labeled numbers, but its on the ecu side and the numbers are puny. There are only 3 numbers, the end of each row is labeled and you'll have to count back to whatever number you're lookin for.

And not sure, but cut the wire anyway and see if that does the trick.

So my CEL actually does come on. I didn't realize that it was the "CHECK" light that flashed. I feel like a dumb ass. Im used the solid "check engine" liight on other cars. So if I'm still not getting my fuel pump to prime and my CEL light is coming on, what could be causing this? A bad dme? How much does the ICV have to do with the fuel pump? I realized (another retarded moment of mine) that the hose from the ICV is not hooked up. Neither is the small hose coming from the FPR that's at the rear of the fuel rail.

Thanks for all the help. I got pretty fed up with the car and stopped for a while. Figuring these few things out gave me a 2nd wind.

The "CHECK" in the middle of the cluster is meant to alert you to something on the check control panel overhead. There is a separate "CHECK ENGINE" light on the bottom of the cluster to the left. Very bright red. If it's lit up you're not going to miss it.

ok ok thatst what i thought and someone tired to convince me otherwise. SDo i guess i am not getting a CEL to come one. WHat is the likelyhood of it being a fried ECU?

Are you *certain* the CEL wire is hooked up correctly? On my OBD2 S52 it's a gray wire on the engine harness side. I think it's the same color on an OBD1 harness. I plugged this into Pin 12 of the C101 connector on the E30 side. On the E30 side of the C101 it's a brown/black wire.

both of my check engine light wires are grey. I checked and rechecked these. I know i have a brown/black wire on the e30 side, not sure what it is hooked up to though. Cant really check at this point because im at school and the car is 5 hours away.
