    99 528 swap?

    can i use a 99 528 motor for my swap?if not what years can i use?

      You can, but it will be significantly more difficult. '99 is the first year of the M52TU which has dual VANOS and for which the easy OBD1 electronics do not directly bolt on. You will want to look at hoveringuy's M54B30 swap thread to understand the difference (the M54 and the M52TU are essentially the same motors - the differences are irrelevant for swap difficulty.)

        It's mostly an OBD1 swap with a few differences and an extra circuit to control the dual VANOS.

        You can also run the stock ECU which is easier in some ways, but more difficult with EWS and such.
