If you are getting no spark, and you are sure your wiring is OK.

Start with the crank. The cam will not create a no start. Just a slow start.

Look for mV @ the x6000 connector while cranking to verify you are getting some sort of VR signal. You really need a scope to check it for real.

My crank sensor might have to be replaced to fix the no spark, but i still don't know why my fuel pump isn't turning on. I cant have 2 bad . Idk... Tomorrow the 3rd shop will let me know for sure...

No spark/no fuel are interrelated. A bad Crank sensor will cause both these.

Not saying that's for sure your problem but yeah. Not my first rodeo.
Who did your swap anyway? Take it back to them?

IF your taking it to a mechanic, why are you posting on here? A mechanic shouldn't need the help of a bunch of DIY'ers on an internet forum.

I am 100% positive that a bad crank sensor (a full faliure) will disable starting. VR sensors are very funny sensors at times, since they are flux based they can start to wear out and not read properly.

The fuel pump is triggered by the ECU when cranking is sensed.

You forget some of us ARE actually mechanics here.

To the OP, see if you can get a code reading out of the DME. A bad crank sensor will cause your exact symptoms and will throw a code so you could confirm that easily enough with the right diagnostic equipment.

^^^ exactly a lot of ppl on here are mechanics and are probably really experienced with swaps. i was just double checking if a bad crank sensor will be the cause of a fuel pump not kicking in. the reason im not taking it back to my mechanic that did the swap is because he is clueless of why its not starting. im paying $100 an hr to get this fixed now. im just tired of towing it from place to place and paying extra money for nothing. thanks for all of your help once again

                          ya, thats no fun.

did you consider taking it to Ryan G or JD's shop? Ryan is in auburn and knows 24v swaps (he has one in his own e30, the shop will probably have one there also).

JD is in richmond and has helllla diagnostic gear (for electronic puzzles) and has converted OBD1 engine to obd2, obd2 engines to obd 1.

both are e30 24v swap specialty shops and good professionals to work with.

JD helped me diagnose my own S52/obd1/e34it swap; My cause of no start???

incorrect crank sensor - was plugged into the oil pan sensor, apparently the wires are perfect length/plug pattern to exchange.
                          OBD1 M54/M52TU swap as a M50b25

Z4 non powered steering rack fits e30

                          Euro e46 2005/6 320d 6mt gearbox into E30 with M20 hardy and beck 1985 327s engine

If you are willing to have your car towed down to richmond, we will take care of business for you. And if you need any other details finished up while its here, we would love to help you.

If not, I understand you are very far. But I would love to help you fix your issue, I started working on cars to release the death grip of mechanics on my balls.

Feel free to call me and I can give you a step by step of how to diagnosis your no start.

Ps. Any normal mechanic will have NO clue of how to diagnosis a swap car. There is a lot of shit involved in getting that car to run. But if you know the tricks you can work around that shit.

LOL I remember those days my first swap wouldnt start. I threw parts and money at it and all it needed was the eyelets re arranged on the strut tower/battery tray so the main relay got 12V+
