This is true, I had a fully built 3.5ltr S50 with everything you can imagine and a RMS stg 2 SC and I was about 475whp. You are chassing 500 with that setup, many have tried and few have surpassed, you will be spinning the blower at max. If I had gone to a nice GT35r setup and was tuned and fueled well 700whp would be cake.Comment

I hear you guys, I bought the engine with a AA stage I kit, and it kinda snow balled into what it is now. If i was to do it over, i would of went turbo.Comment

Lots of people in here with no rotrex experience spreading misinformation...
I've owned a c38 blower (since 06', sold last winter) and I've had it rebuilt after it started making a lot of bearing noise. It came back like new and performed great.
They ARE rebuildable.
There are benefits to the planetary drive superchargers like the rotrex and hks units that usually go unmentioned. First off, they are very efficient. With it being so efficient, they are able to package it in a small form factor.
Also, if you dig into the technical documents, you'll see that the rotrex units have a much wider operating temp than the vortec blowers. Vortecs also need frequent rebuilds. Not sure the exact intervals though.
Not saying anything bad about vortecs whatsoever. Just stating facts. Yes the vortecs ultimately make more power but they are much larger.
Just go turbo anyway:DComment

Please provide the information of who rebuilt your blower, as I'm sure plenty of people would love to know. It's the common conception that they are not rebuildable, of course verified by Active because they want to make money on the consumer.
I will jump in on this one. It really depends on what you use your car for. IMO a turbo s5x produces an insane amount of torque for an e30. An m50 with a turbo is a bit more controllable on low boost.
On the other hand a centrifugal supercharger doesn't produce a fraction of the torque and give a more linear, controllable power band for an e30.
Have you ever driven a high powered (400+ whp & wtq) turbo e36 M3? Pretty hard to drive at the LIMIT before 3rd gear. This is in a car with a much better rear suspension geometry, larger tire potential and more weight. Now take about 500 lbs out of that equation, a shorter wheel base, poor rear suspension geometry and less room for sufficient rubber, and you have a car that's a handful to drive.
I guess I like to go WOT any time I feel like it, and I don't want to have to worry about the rear end kicking out on me when I don't want it to. On the track most aftermarket turbo set-ups are much harder to control than a predictable supercharger set-up as well.

I'm leaning towards SC because I would like a more progressive power band, without the sudden "oomph" of turbos. I'm not looking for huge power the E30 would have trouble putting down. This is because I track my car, turbo setups probably being much more appropriate for drag.
I know I could easily get an S50/38 for the priceof the AA kit, but I've been looking around and the engines are really hard to find and virutally all need to be rebuilt, to be safe. This requires so much knowledge, time and money, I'd be scared to track it. With the AA kit, if I blow something up in the engine, repairing/replacing it is much easier and cheaper. I'd be willing to swap the M50 with an M52B28 though, because that should be a no brainer. I can justify the cost if I can throw the kit in in a weekend or two. Deisgning a turbo kit is frankly impossible for me if I want to get as much track time as possible and having someone else do it would skyrocket the price anyways.Comment

I would find the wise men, who know something about Rotrex pulley size, and experience...
I'm shopping for rotrex C30-94 and the pulley is 85mm.
my motor is m50b25 standard.
Can you tell me, How much pressure should be 85mm pulley?
Exhaust manifold is Now stainless steel. Catback maybe future?
would be purpose put the intercooler also.
Manifold will changes to s50b32 the whole set(feeders inc)
I thought that MS would direct the motor.(plug and play Style Ms)
I'm not good at math, that's why I ask this pulley situation ?Comment
