      TRUTH.

If your front & rear aren't leaking...leave them alone.

serously? I've unbolted my rear, but haven't taken it off the crank yet. Should i just bolt it back up?
I don't always wreck cars, but when I do I wreck them into trees.

If it was leaking, change it. If it wasn't, leave it alone.

By replacing a non-leaking seal, you run the risk of creating a leak.

Mine is leaking now, I didn't check it while it was on the stand, totally skipped my mind.

Now I get to pull the motor and change it.

^ yea, I was going to say, why not just drop the trans?? Not necessary to pull the engine.

I did my swap by myself over a period of about 3 months. It was in my garage...no time or pressure restraints...so little by little. Prepared me well for when Dan's swap came around. Everything in the swap is pretty straightforward if you are prepared and know what you are getting in to. You do have to use some creativity but nothing that can't be researched or resolved on here.

The only part that caused me any stress was researching and making my muffler choice!!!

In all honesty hardest part is just putting in the time and effort. But when you're excited those two come hand in hand. There's plenty of information with knowledgeable people on this board to pretty much tackle this job. Almost makes it as easy as singing your abc's.

I'm also welding the oil pump nut and redoing the exhaust, including pulling my headers to have them coated. All of which will be much easier with the engine out of the car. Pulling/dropping the motor back in doesn't scare me.
