I want to put the newest diesel BMW makes in mine eventually. But I'm having difficulty finding out how likely that would be in passing here.

If I understand what I've been reading, the engine has to be from like you said a same year car or newer but it also has to be offered in the US. And then we don't get the diesel options here in the US. But we are starting to or might in the future? That's what I think I've been reading.
Das ist nicht nur nicht richtig, es ist nicht einmal falsch!

Well I Just got back from the ref. I have oem cats in and they still spent about 15 minutes looking at the cat to make sure it was the right one. After the full test I FAILED emissions at 15mph. HC was 185 (108 Max) and NO was 1348 (767 max).. so now i'm looking at another $500 for new cats! :hitler: FML...

You need to measure your pre and post cat temp to verify that they are working..

I passed fine two months ago with my single cat. Nothing has changed except for the Cats and O2 Sensor and the O2 sensor shouldn't really effect Nox.

cats you bought were prob worse than your single. go to http://www.maxautosupplies.com/

Thats where I bought the cats for my swap. Cal legal ones ran me 70 each I believe. I put new plugs, new oil, and ran turner software and it passed very clean.

Wonder what tune you are running

from my experience the cats are always removed once the car gets to the JY

Robert, you better make sure they are CA cats or you're fucked.

                                ^ This.

...and I bet they aren't. Use the tool here: https://ssl.arb.ca.gov/PartsSearchTo...earchTool.aspx to see if the cats you are buying have an EO number, otherwise you are throwing money down the drain.
