    Cts question

Maybe this is written somewhere but still unclear.. Im working on a M52 ODB1 and I have the blue temperature sensor in the first port in the head and planning on getting the brown e30 cluster temp sensor (removing throttle body cooling) My question is, does the harness have to modified in any way or will the two prong connector on the ODB1 harness still work since the brown top has 1 prong.

The single prong wire is dealt with at the C101 connector.

Do I need to route a wire from the sensor to the c101 plug?

No. Nothing happens to that signal, other then your cluster displaying it.

You need the E30 brown one since it's got the proper temp/resistance to match the cluster.

              Why don't you run obd2?

I would still run it OBD2. So many advantages.
