the exhaust shop built versions usually aren't terribly efficient. they're going to just weld a couple pipes together in a pretty crude manner, unless you pay a LOT of money for your exhaust..

That depends a lot on the shop. Most are lazy, but some of us enjoy our profession and aren't there to just make a paycheck ;)
