I did a quick search and came up empty. So here we go...
First things first, the car is a 1991 318iS and the motor is a 97 M52B28 which is going OBD1.
Are there no issues with the tachometer signal switching from the 4 cylinder M42 to the 6 cylinder M52...?
Now for the temp sensor... My friend who has done multiple OBD2 to OBD1 swaps told me to take the stock OBD2 sensor which has 4 wires, send 2 to the ECU and 2 to the gauge which would take car of the OBD1 setup of two different sensors... I then heard that in order for the gauge to work in my car I need to hook up the sensor of my M42 and send that to the gauge... I know people have made custom units to plug into the throttle body heater I think for this reason. Is the M42 sensor calibrated with the 413ECU?
Any clarification could help!
Thanks,
Brandon
