    For example, pin 6 on the e30 side (02 sensor) is connected to e36 side pin 22 (reverse lights)??

    Can't really view the chart correctly since I'm at work and using my phone.

      akg says it's unused http://www.akgmotorsport.com/e30convpins.html

      but from what I can tell, it's the power to the diagnostics port. Regardless, that shouldn't affect the CEL.

      also pin 6 is corroborated here: http://www.e30tech.com/forum/showthread.php?t=104761

        AKG charts wiring are wrong. They always have been.

        Did you;

        Reset the codes. Disconnect the DME FOR 5 minutes. Reconnect DME and run it at idle for 3 minutes. Then drive for 30 minutes

          AKG says to not even hook up pin 6 lol. I went around looking and I'm still pretty sure my wiring is right. I don't even think pin 6 is necessary.

          I'm gonna fix the power to the ECU (long story but it might the issue) then ground the chassis and try again.

          I kinda can't drive the car for 30 min as the reg/safety/emissions are all WAY expired.

            Is your battery low? Low voltage can cause code 1281 to appear. You need to reset the code and drive it somehow like I said in the earlier post. If the code comes back, then it might be your DME that's faulty

              so I read. I'm pretty sure the battery is good. I think the power feed to the ECU is parasiting with my two E fans. So I'm gonna give it its own power source and ground the case.

                That's weird, it fixed my stalling and wonky idle when I grounded it.

                    Take the evap purge valve off then put it back in

                      I don't have a purge valve though.

                                Plug in the purge valve from your M20, that will also make that code go away.
