Theres a guy on here that makes them for $120.00.
Treehouse should be spanked for selling those for that much. Reminds me of people selling water at higher prices after an earthquake.

it is super convenient, but I agree too, it is a bit overpriced. If you search you will find wiring matrix's online that tell you how to splice everything together. Some heatshrink and soldering iron and about 2 hours and it should be done. I'm actually looking forward to doing it!
There is no online wiring information that is correct to my knowledge. If you are referring to the (black and white web site) [name withheld] site and the corresponding wiring info, it is not correct and will not start the car. The Treehouse Adapter is actually not overpriced. The cost of the parts to produce it is well over $100. (hence the reason "kylebes" had to raise the price on his slimy copy. If you had a shop wire the connector, they would not know how, not have the tools, or... if you took it to someone who did, they would charge you a hansome shop rate as they also know how involved it truly is. For thoes of you DIY'ers, your saving thousands by doing conversions yourself, but the wiring is a part of the project that can hang you up for a while. 1 wire mis routed and your car may not work. I have had no less than 20 calls this year alone from people who could not get their wiring to work, some fried components, some had to take their cars to shops, and others have been delayed months. Unfortuneately, customers that have taken apart their connectors to re wire it cannot use the TR adapter unless they can correctly rewire their connectors.
Before you decide the Treehouse Wiring Adapter costs to much, do some reasearch. Get reviews from people who have used them, and people who have not. The price is quite fair, and considering the number of them we have sold this year(product release in Jan 05) the price is very good. There are several R3V members that have them and they work great. Most of these M50 Conversion DIY's that have the adapter think nothing of the wiring, when in reality it's the hardest part of the conversion.
Not to mention that Treehouse Customers get free support. Now that's a good deal!

Yeah, you can get "custom" wiring from them. I got one from jon for my e30 m3 s52 swap, I couldnt find the wiring diagrams for an e30 m3, so I figured I would save myself a lot of hassle and buy one from him. I will say the support is excellent, apparently in 88 thy changed the way the tach signal works, I called up treehouse and about 3 days later I got about 4 different ways to solve the problem. $400 includes good service. Plus its just one less thing you have to really worry about going wrong, which is nice in a big project.
No offence, but i'm a certified automotive technician, and i'll be more then able to handle wiring this engine to my chassis. Let alone their are MANY correct references avaliable to help people rewire the harness correctly. I don't mean to bash the product, its just that its not worth it imo, when if you are technically inclined and have some time you can make the harrness yourself, just like you guys do per application. Instead of plugging and playing do it like the pioneers of the m50 swap did, sit down and spend some time. If your gonna build a car that is decent spend some time with it, or you can buy your way to performance, and still have no skills in the end.

Its just not worth it to you, maybe.
I am technically inclined to a point. If I were doing the M/S 50 swap, I'd buy this as electrical is not my strong suit.
The reality is, unless you are a full time, experienced tech, the M/S 50 swap is fairly easy EXCEPT for the wiring part of it.
Given the number of posts we see from people who have done the swap who have electrical problems, usually tracable to wiring, I'd say this is a good option.
As an auto electrician I know I could probably do this job with my eyes closed, but I also KNOW that even with the right information, diagrams etc most people would NOT do a satisfactory job, hell most people can't join two wires together successfully, as for soldering/heatshrink, while you will get away with it usually, is not as good as a proper crimp using professional tooling (very expensive by the way)and quality connectors.A soldered wire is susceptible to vibration, and the flux in resin core solder is very corrosive. This adaptor looks like a very good product to me for most people who are not capable of doing what can be a tricky job, if you do not understand car electrics.
