Yeah, a lot of have people have done it themselves so its doable, and its not hard at all, if you can find the correct wiring diagrams its just 20min with a soldering iron, not hard at all. Only reason I bought one was because a s52 obdi to e30 m3 wiring diagrams are hard to come by lol, I had a lot of other things on my plate and treehouse came through for me with a good product.

The Treehouse Adapter is actually not overpriced. The cost of the parts to produce it is well over $100. (hence the reason "kylebes" had to raise the price on his slimy copy. If you had a shop wire the connector, they would not know how, not have the tools, or... if you took it to someone who did, they would charge you a hansome shop rate as they also know how involved it truly is. For thoes of you DIY'ers, your saving thousands by doing conversions yourself, but the wiring is a part of the project that can hang you up for a while. 1 wire mis routed and your car may not work. I have had no less than 20 calls this year alone from people who could not get their wiring to work, some fried components, some had to take their cars to shops, and others have been delayed months. Unfortuneately, customers that have taken apart their connectors to re wire it cannot use the TR adapter unless they can correctly rewire their connectors.
Before you decide the Treehouse Wiring Adapter costs to much, do some reasearch. Get reviews from people who have used them, and people who have not. The price is quite fair, and considering the number of them we have sold this year(product release in Jan 05) the price is very good. There are several R3V members that have them and they work great. Most of these M50 Conversion DIY's that have the adapter think nothing of the wiring, when in reality it's the hardest part of the conversion.
Not to mention that Treehouse Customers get free support. Now that's a good deal!

That is the honest story. Now, do you hate me for making $70 in a couple hours, or TH for making $370 in a couple hours?

I'm sure treehouse has a great product, and if I an unlimited budget I'd get their adapter in a minute. But they didn't come up with the idea of making an adapter using two extra connectors, and anyone with basic wiring skills can make it themselves. (I did, and its held up for well over a year of daily driving.)'91 318is

I have one if you want it. $315 shipped. Never used. I originally bought it because I was getting the swap done at my mechanic's shop, and to avoid him charging me for all the wiring BS and getting mad at me, I just opted to buy the harness adapter.
Hate to intrude on a thread but I will never use this thing cause I'm b-r-o-k-e broke (hence the civic). Never buy an Audi.
p.s. Its meant to fit a 1990 325i to an M50tu. Just thought I'd add that in case you have a 318 of some sort, or one of the etas instead of an I.Last edited by clutterbucker; 12-11-2005, 09:36 PM.- 2000 Audi S4 Stg 2 (sold)

Fact of the matter is this connector sure beats having to pull EVERY connector off the engine if you have to pull it out of the car.

Chimichanga.
thats right bitch.
eat it.
Pulling every connector off an m50 isnt that bad.
6 ignition coils
6 fuel injectors (or you can just pull the fuel rail off [my preference])
2 knock sensors
1 Camshaft sensor
1 Crank Sensor
1 oil temp sensor
1 ICV
1 MAF
1 02
1 Vanos
1 Air temp
1 Oil level sensor
2 grounds
1 12v
shit that was tough.

Most swaps use some kind of E30 chassis plug to M50 harness plug adapter. That way you don't need to monkey around with the original harness, and also you can resell the harness if you decide to upgrade, or take the engine out, etc.

For one thing I have done three of these swaps. Two by my self, one with some one else. AKG motorsports has been around for just as long, probably longer, than Zionsville, or Treehouse, and he will make you the same fucking adapter for $200.
Second, Treehouse makes good products, so does Zionsville, AKG, BMW, shit even Ford. They can all charge a premium for the products they make.
The only thing I do it make the same exact product for less money.
If anyone that has purchased an adapter called me for info I would have the answer, or know where to find it.
If you take your head out of your ass and talk to your boss or who ever heads up the m50 conversions at TH, that guy would tell you he is glad there is competition. It is the American way, you fucking Nazi.
And after you do that extraction of your head from Pedro's favorite hole, go look at all the conversion threads and see who has provided the most fucking conversation and information; from his own research and personal experience. You may see that my name shows up a lot. It is Kyle by the way, Kyle Taylor.
And it does not make you cheap to buy a Rolex at 75% off, you still have a fucking Rolex.
I move that this asshole is banned for the personal attacks and slander of my work and knowledge without basis of any sort.

I didn't see that reply....good thing. Making quality connections is not rocket science.Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

i think you are quite mistaken Kyle. . . i hope you have the opportunity for them to tell you themselves
anyway, i don't work there. but, i do have a friend there, and know the guys, and am going into business myself, and shady business like this is really distasteful IMO. you could have respected their idea and market share, and not have pulled a "korea".
you may think you're bright and a business genius, but really just some punk kid. maybe you ought to consider how you're viewed by the whole BMW community, not just r3v, and how that may hurt your future. how'd you feel in their shoes? heh, remember the guy who copied their CAB design and was thinking about selling it here. . .

Hey guys, let's screw one of the few supporting vendors of the e30 community out of some sales for a quality product in favor of some dipshit waste of sperm's hackjob crap ass wiring adapter.
Kylebes, I'm talking about you.
Seriously, you fuckheads are why no company wants to touch this car anymore. Instead of supporting vendors that take the time and money to put out a quality product that actually works and provides customer support, you'll cheap out and support some shithead who rips off the design and puts out a far inferior setup.
"Gee, I'm gonna drop 3-4k on the motor, but I think I'll cheap out on 120 bucks and try and wire the shit up on my own from some free (wrong) instructions I stole off the internet" "Who cares about getting professional support from a reputable shop, I can go ask some seventeen year old waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffless that have a hard time changing their oil how to to it, get 5 different answers, and all of them be wrong!"
Man, fuck the e30 community.
