    No power towards uptop

I have a CEL, when accelerating I have some power/torque but when I get past 5 it's just a flat climb and that's with the pedal floored. And if I beat the crap out of it (floored everywhere I go) the CEL will disappear then the car will start to pull normal instead of sluggish.

94 M50b25TU in a e30. My guess is maybe a bad IAVC, which I could just remove

What's pinging?(knocking?) And another note is that when I hook it up to the scanner I always get knock sensor circuit 1&2 and vehicle speed sensor.

But when I do the stomp test I get code 1221 which is a massive vaccum leak correct?

pinging is knocking yes. May want to get new knock sensors. I forget what speed sensor means... wiring isn't right or something.

1221 basically means the car is running like ass. Not necessarily vacuum leak. But that's a good place to start.

Ok took the intake off and one of my knock sensors was basically falling apart so I replaced it and put everything together and it ran a little better but still a little sluggish up top. Then the CEL came back on. Waited till I got home and did a stomp test and got 1222?

THAT is usually a vacuum leak.

knock sensors + VSS = no top end.

My fuel filter is new. And with the vaccum leak would a hissing booster cause a massive leak? And the VSS, I wired it to my c101 from the e36's X20 the blk/wht to the blk/wht

Okay well removing that vacuum line from the engine and just running manual brakes for awhile will remove the leak from the motor correct?

Youve found your problem. And yes but good luck with no power assist, esp if youre running an oversize master cyl. Start getting your legs roided up lol

Yeah running a stock system with no vacuum assist is a bad bad idea and I really hope you're not doing that on the street with other drivers around.

That being said, as per the VSS issue, my car didn't run right at all until I fixed the speed sensor up. Did your speedo work before the swap?
