    s52 intake manifold under boost

I realize the best situation is to swap back to the s50/m50 manifold and OBDI.

I am going to be running standalone on my engine, so I'm not really concerned with OBDI.

Would it still be nessicary to swap back to m50 manifold if i'm going to be boosted? Will i still see the powergain? or is it not as important..

    Thanks!

yes there is strong powergain with the M50 mainfold as it flows alot better thus more power

ok cool. Just wasn't sure if being under boost changed any of that... I would think it would somewhat?

being under boost amplifies it. Thats part of the reason so many people opt to make custom intake manifolds when going FI.

Which stand alone system are you using?

Someone should figure out how much boost a m50 intake manifold can take before it explodes :)

              Damn.

That looks like a pretty awesome system. I wish I would have known about that before I purchased the SDS system.

I'll definately look into using that for the next car I build. I love the sequential fuel and ignition!

              good choice!

yeah, i have the previous VEMS unit on my rabbit running EDIS ignition and its great..

The newer version of VEMS is awesome and should be able to handle the S52 with no problems, including VANOS.

                  Here is another question.

Who makes a controller that can handle 12 cylinders?

VEMS can, though it looks like you'll have to go wasted spark/batch fire injectors.... not a big deal though.

enough to make more power than you can handle. So far I have seen 12lbs go through an S50B32 and its a fucking deathtrap.
                      Im now E30less.

Yes, considering I would kill to merely drive a s50b32 with almost a bar of boost.

AA does 25+ PSI S50's with the stock intake manifold, I don't think you could actually make it explode.

lots of companies use plastic intake tubing for their turbo setups because the plastic retains less heat than the metal piping. I don't think there is much of a problem at all with using plastic under boost
