It has to be because of everybodys no traction during the launch. My swap is almost done....
    I have will a s50b30us
    Zf 310
    3.15
    Raceland headers
    CAI
    Full custom exhaust
    Performace chip
24lb injectors and a lightened flywheel. I think I'll have pretty good traction since my wheels are 10 inches wide in the back. Im shooting for at least low to mid 13's.
You guys think that goal is reachable?

Oh yea... Any other mods you guys recommend for me before the swap is done? I want to take care of most the n/a performance mods with the little money I do have left... Thanks

Well, considering almost every m50 car in this thread is in the 14's, I'd say yes.

This is what an 11 sec e30 looks like with street tires.

Elevation was damn near sea level. New England Dragway in Epping NH if you want to google it. They have gone NHRA this year and rumor is they completely redid the track going all concrete. This will be amazing for track temps if true.

The M50Tu car I drove wasn't very light, had a full interior (minus rear seat back) and a roll bar. I dont know the gearing off hand, I do know it was a 260 trans though. It was actually somebody's car on here at one time, now it resides in MD.

    Same track? What's the elevation?

    My m50tu ran a 14.4@93
.3 seconds does not equal 6mph, given the same basic car.

It just doesn't add up. Anyone I know locally that runs s52's trap right about 100mph, maybe a little over. That's 230+whp and a lot more low end torque then an m50. Whether the engine is an in e30, e34, or e36.

Like I said, I'm sure you are a great driver, but look at the facts. We both ran the same 60'. That means your launch was no better then mine. You didn't pick up 7mph by pushing the pedal down any harder then I did. My car is around 2750 lbs. Unless you are 2500 or less, it just doesn't add up. Maybe I'm at a slow track?

Trap speed has little to do with launching. I ran a 14.4 @ 93. Every one of my runs was within 1.5 mph of each other, even one where I missed second gear twice. You didn't gain 7mph on me with a launch. I was on v710 r-comps that hooked hard, I actually broke an engine mount. Your engine was either worked and you didn't know it, or it was just strong from the factory. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure you're a great driver, but no normal m50 e30 will run 100mph.

This may finally happen. My roomate just took out a personal loan today for a E30. He is going to be parting his perfectly good 99 M3 to do an OBD1 S52 swap into a clean E30. I hope he lets me take it down the track a few times when I put it together. Maybe I'll tell him it is payment for me doing the swap! ;)
