      Everything I had listed.

Also, long tube headers and 2.5" exhaust, which probably don't do anything. The v710's hooked up very good. Clutch drop at about 4k and go. It actually bogged a bit.

Impressive :) They are basically slicks though, lol.

Don't remember, but it wasn't good. 2.2 or something, probably.

arguably his best mod is the weight reduction. 2580 with him in it... it's a 2400lb e30 vs your 2750 lb e30

Yes, this makes a huge (cheap) difference. My S52 E30 weighed 2,608 with me in it and was very quick. Too bad I never made it to the drag strip with the S52.. It hooked up extremely well until I toasted the clutches in the 250k diff. I can't wait to hit the strip with my new engine.

                I don't have an e30 anymore :-|

Yep. My m50 e30, that weighs 300lb more, ran a 14.4 @ 95 on the same tires, on the same day. It's clearly faster up top, but the lighter m20 car goes through 1st and 2nd quicker.

So I just read this entire thread. I had pretty much laid out what all I wanted to do to my e30 make it do ok at the track; M50 with mods, some weight reduction, but after seeing all these 15 second runs(My Stock engine 93 teg did 15.01) I think I will be doing a LOT more thinking beforehand.

Honestly, I think if you know what you're doing you can pull better times. If you make up a competent intake system and have a good running M50, a proper rear end for your transmission, know how to shift and launch you'll be into the 14s, if you've got M3 cams in a VANOS motor and a proper tune you'll probably be in the low 14s. Certainly faster than mid 15s.

I've got some s50 cams sitting in my garage. I have a g260 tranny with a 4.10 lsd. I would not really want to trade that out. I was really aiming for 13s high, low, or mid didn't matter, I just wanted a 13 second car that I could drive pretty regularly honestly. I started looking into megasquirt today. I still have no clue about it really, but am interested in learning more. Weight reduction is what I'm trying to figure out right now. Anywho...

IF you are a decent driver you should easily be able to get into the 13's with an intake, exhaust and chip and some minor weight reduction. Look back a few pages at my times.

I think we concluded your old car was a freak of nature. :p

I'll be taking my M50 car to a strip when I get it sorted, I'm very curious to accurately gauge how quick it is.

Yeah, if I can get around those times I'd be happy. I want to run my tranny/diff combo(getrag 260/ 4.10 LSD) With an m50b25tu, throw some s50 cams in it. If that would get me into the 13s I'd be happy. I guess I will continue with my plans, throw in some suspension work, and hope for the best. :D

Fixed that for you. Most people have trouble getting good times because they have too stiff of a suspension to put the power on the ground. Tires and suspension will make a huge difference in the 1/4 mile.

Weight reduction off the rear end makes things worse at the strip. Weight off the front end, seats and wheels will be the most beneficial.
