maf problems

    maf problems

    with an unplugged 540 maf my s52 runs SUPER strong.... with it plugged in, it runs like ass no power, bucks, just no good. i got another maf and it does the same thing, so i tried a 3rd one, still no change... whats up anyone have any advice???

    were those 2nd and 3rd mafs from an S52, or were they other 540 mafs? if the 540 maf is the commonly used 3.5-inch "high flow" maf, I could see issues without the right tune. I'd recommend the OE maf, many agree the 3.5" maf is not worth the trouble because the real bottleneck is the throttle body.

      Its obd1 swapped with a tune for a 540 maf so ... it worked fine for the last 4 months then one day it didn't

        any input im still running with an unplugged MAF... so far the only thing that has changed is more power

          Check continuity from the MAF plug to the ECU plug and make sure you have power and ground at the plug with key on.

          Can also test voltage of the outputs of MAF to ECU. Should see somewhere around 1v at idle.

            did all that everything seems fine, i tried another maf and it worked kinda ok no power but to cut out...then i had to unplug the dme and unplug the maf to make it run good again...
