OBD1 S52 in '91 318is, no crank, no start

    Are you sure the engine can spin freely ? Check all grounds & the starter to power cable.
    Make sure their isn't any type of killswitch (alarm)

      Thats where we are at now the Crank does not spin freely. Something is jammed up!

          First thing I would check is the clearance between the flywheel and oilpan. M20 flywheels with e34 oil pans tend to touch unless shave and spaced.

                im gonna have to agree with everyone on the flywheel. i had this same problem in my 87 4door, flywheel was shaved but when we got it back and all installed, put back in the car i would get the same click and nothing. turns out the shop only shaved it half of what we asked for. it was corrected and re installed, worked no problem

                    My thoughts exactly at this point. It was already shaved and appeared not to have any issues, but that's obviously not the case now...

                        When i did my swap. I had the shop shave my m20 flywheel down to the ring gear. No spacing needed
