E30 M50 Heat shield for CAI

Has any one seen or made a heatshield for the new intake in their engine swap ?
It would make sense to have one since most people have their cone filter sitting in the middle of the engine bay where the temp is highest.
    Anyone have a pic?

Jeremy, where is your coolant resevoir? Are you running the e36 one built into the radiator?

Nah, it looks like he's running the stock M42 radiator with the built-in expansion tank on the left side of the radiator.

That was my setup originally with the M50. When I went off to Arizona for school, I decided to upgrade to the larger radiator, so I had to get rid of that box. I wish I could go back to the M42 radiator, that box was the shit.

Looks like plastic welded together out of sheet abs.

It's ABS plastic, made by Bryson (the PO). Knowing how tedious it is to make even something simple with ABS, it probably took him an entire day. It is completely sealed around the edges, and the plastic bit behind the headlights is removed. It made a noticeable difference.

Glued together with JB weld and reinforced inside with 90° angles of ABS.

So your previous radiator gave up the ghost? What style are you using now? A powerrr like Ryan? or a Griffion like the one in this Alpina B6

Gave up the ghost...my previous radiator was a stock M42 one, if that helps. Now its a stock 525i radiator.

I have no faith in late model BMW radiators. Sad that the factory continues to produce those pos. I am suprised that no one filed a class action suit over them.
