Some pictures I've seen on the forum show intakes that look like theyre ground down even past the level where the fins are. How thick are the walls of these intakes? I shaved my fins and the intake is still touching my brake booster

You have to relocate the clevis. See that thread where they mod it. If not youll go through boosters like crazy. I moved mine 1"+

It's only slightly touching and I can actually see light in between.. all its gonna do is cause some vibration in the cabin which I already have with the harsh engine and transmission mounts.
Just asked this question because I swear I saw a picture of 1 guy who had the side of his intake ground down pretty far.

^as ive said before i believe something else is going on there as you managed to break the base of the mount in half. I run E28 mounts in everything *unshimmed* and have never had a failure.
