    check panel quit working

I just recently pulled my cluster to wire in my vss and after reading up a little more I found out late model vss just goes through the harness. But when I put my cluster back in my check panel quit working. I made sure everything was back where it was but why would this happen.

And after going back and going through my wires I connected my vss pin 14 to 14. Yet my mpg still doesn't work.

Any opinions? I checked with a volt meter and the pins are getting power

MPG isn't based on VSS input to the DME. the MPG signal is pin 8 (white/black). ALl the DME does is send a conditioned injector signal to the cluster, the SI board calculates everything else.

I think you must have bumped something loose when messing with your cluster. the check panel not working isn't directly related to the cluster or DME.

Hmm. Well the blinking "check" on the cluster isn't going off anymore either so maybe I'll just find a new cluster and try it out. Keep the other for a backup. So the black white wire on the engine side needs to go to pin 8 for mpg? I'll go back through wiring tonight

maybe the bulb is broken, burned out, or got disconnected somehow.

it's white/black. black is for RPM.
