I just bolted up my M52 to my Getrag 240, and while all the bolt holes line up there are large gaps where the flywheel is exposed. I assume I'm missing some part, however I can't find this piece on line or anywhere. IF the problem is something missing is this piece something that requires removal of the flywheel to install? I know that the starter is missing and will partially fill part of one side however that isn't the problem.

I am not sure what the correct name for it is. BMW calls it a "covering plate" I call it "the gasket thing between the bell housing and engine block":borg:

One has an access hole with a rubber plug, and the manual doesn't.
Are they interchangeable then?, Hmmmm.
However unless the gap is only 1-2mm's, then this is not the issue and the pilot is likely not lining up to the input shaft or are too small of an ID on the bearing.Originally posted by 325Projectzdon't listen to the diagram... listen to mr. swiss.
