You should've insured the vehicle at a 3rd party company for classics; They inspect the vehicle based on swaps, labor, and receipts and give you an insured estimate.

I've seen e30 swap guys crash their swaps and walk out with a fat $10k check without even fighting. Your rate will go super high to reflect the insured inspected value, but at least you know you're insured against all odds should something happen

That being said.. Glad to see your alive man; e30s are replacable, lives are not. Good Luck for a local guy

Good luck getting more then 3100. I got about 2700 both times my e30 got totalled out and the second time it had the M30 swap and the style 5s. They didnt care much about the mods. Do you have receits documenting the work. One of the downsides of doing everything yourself.

That's shitty man. I loved your car.

Motor looks pretty fuxzord. Like others have said, crank and head might be salvageable, but that block looks pretty toast.

Insurance will try to phuck you any chance they get. I got backed into last summer and they offered me $1100 and no chance of buying the car back. Called my lawyer, he yelled at them for 30 seconds and they came back with $2200 and I keep the car. Bastards. They really don't care about engine swaps etc, unless you have receipts for all the modifications done. At the time, I had around $10k in the car and when I told the bitch insurance adjuster that, she laughed at me.

Good luck to you, whatever direction you choose to go with it.

my roommate just sold his late model S50 swapped E30 for 8k.

also these are fairly similar to your car

S50 swapped E30s are well over 5k, keep fighting!

Get it out and on a stand; tear it to pieces.

If you are unlucky the bearings in the bottom will be toast and the valves will be bent.

If lucky then some of the above items may be re-usable.

That would need a FULL rebuild imo.
