Got my whole swap done but still can't find a driveshaft.

I used a ZF trans out of a E34 525i. Apparently I should have just used a g260 because finding this driveshaft sucks ass.

Who else has had to deal with this? And is there any option besides 87-88 325e, E36 328i/is and E36 M3?

Look into the revshift poly guibo/adapter? Allows you to bolt your small guibo driveshaft to a large guibo trans output flange.
For all things 24v, check out Markert Motorworks!

Mmmmyeaaa... those arent too friendly to input shaft bearings I've heard.

I've had one in my car (the standard large guibo for the g260, not the swap version) for the better part of a year. No issues. I imagine it'd be hard on input shaft bearings if you were beating the shit out of it constantly, butI haven't noticed any issues yet.

Who does a 24v swap and doesn't beat the shit out of it constantly? Isn't that kind of the point?

Driveline Specialists in Portland OR can hook you up with a new rebuilt one, but it will cost you. I think around $700 with a lifetime warranty and grease-able fittings on the U joints.

              Are they too long?
I had a similar issue, with the e36 zf trans. I tried several driveshafts, all of them a bit too long.
I took out the threaded fitting on the slip joint (with the plastic ring inside) and that gave me an extra ~3cm, and it just barely fit.

Not sure if that's your problem but I thought I would mention it

Just take the driveshaft to a shop that builds and balances driveshafts.

Measure the lenght that you need and give the shop the 2 ends that you need.

I've built a few swap cars with my racing partner and we've done the driveshaft everytime this way.

What model ZF is it? from my understanding it's an overdrive box anyway so I'd stick with the getrag 260 if you had that. 5 speed in the e34's if memory serves me pop out of 3rd gear and 5th do to the detent issues solved with the update.

                  ratios were 3.67, 2.00, 1.41, 1.00, .74 and reverse 4.08.

That is completely inaccurate. There is no data anywhere that supports your statement.

You can get a big guibo driveshaft from here for a decent price. Planning on ordering one since I'm using a ZF 310Z in my swap.

the r3vshift flex disc will work for now , but itll break something down the line. its a good idea in theory. But many eople have noticed that because it doesnt flex, it just wears itself out.

I used an E30 m3 Driveshaft. That i got for free.
                          Perfect fit.

And to everyone saying that it wears out parts... show me proof. It doesn't wear out parts at all. It is a physical object and like all physical objects it can become worn under various circumstances. This is why we have a lifetime warranty on them. It is literally the last flex disc you will have to buy.

Our original prototype flex disc (the same thing that we sell) is still on the test E30. It is a daily driver and it has been going for about 4 years now. We inspected it a couple months ago and it is still in perfect condition. Nothing in the driveline has worn out or failed because of it. And the car is driven hard by an enthusiast every single day.
