I found an IX booster and MC for around $80 from my buddy bill over at MSR. Call him at 201-675 6658 and see if he can get you one. If he can't I know he can find someone who can. Tell him Jason sent you.

    IX Booster:

Use the IX MC or the e34 25mm MC. I know EITHER of these WILL work.

You need a remote res. Page 1 has the part number. I know this WILL work. Or you can cobble your own together, on your own for that.

    e21 320i booster:

You must cut the shaft down. The object of the game is to make the 320i shaft (which is longer than the normal e30) the same length as the e30 one. Measure your e30 one, measure you e21 one, cut, thread, bolt in. DONE!

Then you DON'T need a remote res, just pop whatever one goes on whatever MC you have on.

    e36 MCs WON'T work, e36 boosters WON'T work

EDIT: Shit, I said the e34 m5 will fit the e21 (before my edit) thats not true, Now I remember why I ditched my e21 booster lol.
Well, I have just recently come up on a deal for an ix booster and mc for $80 shipped, which I jumped on. Just to be absolutely 100% sure... that will work with a remote reservoir setup, correct?

what about your clutch resevoir?? on the e cars. on the e cars using the getrag you have your hydrolic feed line running from the resevoir thats on top of the master cylinder. what are you guys doing about that???

I've built M50 non vanos to e30, trimmed fins from intake plenum, shimmed stock booster to lean little to left= some 3-5mm gap. My friend drove with that assembly for 15kkm and had no problem, but it is a tight fit, and due tolarances it might not work in all cases.

for my remote reservoir set up, i used a 2002 reervoir with the DSM lines...i mounted hte reservoir above the shocktower where the e30 ps reservoir goes...the reservoir almost kisses the hood when the hood is closed. but it works no prob. only cost me $35CAD for the setup.

all of the conversions i have done (us spec m/s50/2's) used the e21 booster. easy to find, shorten rod via cut and weld (if you are ok putting your existance into your ability to weld) or re-thread (if you have patience and value your life.) you can use the e30 master, e30m3 master or 750i master.
    Gee, thanks!!

I have never driven a swapped car with the 320i booster, but I have been very happy with the brake feel on the two that I've driven with iX boosters and 25mm master cylinders.

Can the OP or someone update this in a list format??

Basically, what are the Booster/MC options and the pros/cons of each?

I read thru the entire thread, but the signal to noise ratio is too high for me to interpret and it's awfully hard to weed out the "I heard this would/would not work" posts vs. the "I've done it and I know this will/will not work"..... :)

And whats the deal with the remote resivor, im confused on why you need the remote res unless its jsut to make room for the intake thats all i could see right?
You're confused about a lot of things... I was very clear that you cannot use the stock MC with the ix booster. If you would bother to LOOK at the booster in your car and the new one, you could figure out why.
