    s50 piston clearance

I need the piston-to-wall clearance for a 96 S50 engine (to bore my M44 accordingly) since I am sending the block and pistons out to the machine shop tomorrow.
    I googled with no luck.
I could use a link to some real BMW service manuals for M44 and S50 specs if anyone knows where to get that.
Thanks, 2/3rds of an m3 (E36) is on its way into my E30. Maybe I should fab up an M2 badge. umm no.
You say "Where are your other two cylinders?"
I say "Where's your other camshaft?"

    First off, a 96 is an s52.
Second, when I was rebuilding my engine I googled it and found it in no time. Just try different search terms.

    Might be useful for you:

      Piston to wall:
      .0034

      Top ring:
      .019-.020
      2nd ring:
      .024

      oil ring=minimum = .015"

that did it, thank you. it has everything I need. I did verify that my pistons are S50 but I guess I have the year wrong. They are 85.9mm
