sounds like some mighty faulty wiring. Make sure the engine bay main terminals aren't crossed.

        i agree.

The PO has cut wires here, there. Taped off wires in every color of the rainbow.
He also cut the wires that power the fuel pump then tried to splice them in further down the harness?
Im not sure where he left off and where i should begin.

I want to get this car done and don't mind having to tow it a few hours to a shop, as long as they are reliable and are willing to work with me on the price.

Other wires are getting hot somewhere behind the ignition and in the harness adapter.

Behind the ignition as in the steering column? There's some confusion if they followed online guides for the adaptation of the engine harness to the body - some models didn't get pin # 20 at the c101, others did and if they are hooked up wrong, it fries stuff.

Personally, I would just start with a new harness if the PO hacked into it. We rebuild harnesses often when people fry/chop them, the 24v has far more going on than an m20.

Have you tried to disconnect the body from engine harness and jump a fused wire directly to the pump to make sure it's not seized/shorted?

You guys wouldn't believe some of the shenanigans that has come across our floor.

Yeah behind the steering wheel its gets hot, and also some wires inside the harness adapter got so hot they started to melt.

The fuel pump runs fine when it is taken out and wired up by itself.

Id prefer to rip everything out and start over but cost would be an issue. I heard some rumors and am curious how much a new harness would run me.

New would be very expensive. Uncut OBD1 harnesses sell for about $150 or so, less if you go pull one at a junk yard.

Pull the covers off the steering column before going further and inspect what's happening in there. Would suck to get another harness just for it to also burn up because of a short in the ignition.

There's a few of us on the boards that sell plug and play 24v swap harnesses, but again, you better inspect what's going on with the ignition to prevent further hurting of the wallet.

                Im a noob with electricity
I'd much rather pay someone to handle the situation and was curios if 1000$ would be able to cover it.

Got the fuel pump wired up and actually got it to start today on its own.
The problem seemed to be a faulty ground under neath the back seat towards the driver side.
Fixed that and then wired up the fuel pump. It ran but wasn't "pumping" fuel, it was just getting foamy in the tank. Took it out and found out the PO installed a walbro 255 but had the wires switched.
Got it all hooked up, flipped the fuel switch and Bam! ran like a champ

What trans are you running and what ratio? If you have a ZF trans, got a good locking 3.45lsd.

I'm having the same issue as you. Fuel pump will not kick on. Car just cranks and cranks but no fuel. I'm in Eastern Central FL. It been stuck like that for a few months now. I need to find a shop to fix this.
