Awesome! I second the i lip. I regretted getting the is as I was constantly worried I would scrape it & repeatedly literally knocked it off. Nothing sucks more than having to stop and go pick up your lip.

parkerbink - so is that the I lip or IS lip in your sig? I still don't know the difference... I like the one in your SIG, that's what I want.
PeaveyBassist - I'm already on non-stock suspension, H&R sport/Koni SA shocks. That stuff was on the car when I bought it, I sold the 318 springs for $10 :) I will not go much lower, my m3 is pretty low...I need one of the cars to have some clearance.

That is an is & it scraped on everything no matter how hard I tried to not scrape. I knocked it off comnig out of the car wash driveway & again on a dip while making a left turn.
The final indignity was a parking space cement thing that broke it and cost me 85.00 (friend price, I was quoted 140 from a jerk) getting it fiberglassed/painted so it could go in the trunk for the car's trip to Ohio.
I agree it looks cool but trust me it only looks good for a minute, then it gets scrapped up and looks like hell. Look around how many do you see on cars on the road? Most are like your car, missing because they were knocked off.
I could not fully enjoy the car fearing for the lip every second. Trust me, get the i lip you wou't regret it.
Additionally they are near impossible to find used so you have to pay 140.00 plus tax, plus shipping plus paint so that is over 200.00 vs 50.00 for an i plus paint.Last edited by parkerbink; 04-12-2006, 01:02 PM.

thanks for the info, but if you really don't like yours you should sell it to me, it's already my color too...
I just don't think it'll be an issue for me, with those H&R springs the car looks like a 4x4. I never have any problems with the m3, but we'll see what comes up. I like the front to look low

how do you like how your exhaust fits? I have a stock m3 exhaust sitting around so i am probably just going to use that i just want to make sure it sitts straight and doesnt look to low. Good call on the wipper fluid, AC lines, and cruise deletes, i plan to do this i think it cleans things up nice.

It looks like you just have the overflow line going to it? What about the other bigger hose that went to the expansion tank? Where did that goto?
Lookin good!Rollin' with a Geistkuchen

I'll take some closeups of the overflow tank in the next day or so. There is a barb on the bottom of the coolant tank. i drilled a hole in the bottom of the battery tray and routed the hose through that barb. it cleaned up the look a little bit and looked to be an awesome spot for it. In the pics you'll understand better, but it's a pretty decent little setup for my application.
As far as the lack of wiper fluid, cruise, and a/c go, that was easy. The car never had cruise, and I haven't reinstalled the washer fluid tank yet. a/c is useless to me, I live in wisconsin.
SchnellerVert - it's actually red electrical tape and it's very temporary. I had to hard wire a wire for the fuel pump so I went from the power block to the fuse box, that is the only way the fuel pump stays running. I wired in a on/off toggle to my dash to operate it for now. It will be gone in the next two weeks, but I had to do it for now as I needed to make sure most of my stuff worked. The m3 wiring cover is going on shortly right after I get that wiring figured out.
bmws50b30 - The K&N is a RU3550. I bought the polished aluminum 3.5" diameter pipe on ebay and I bought the 3.5" red silicone hose on ebay too. They were about $5 a piece + shipping. In another month or so the engine bay will look much better, I gotta do something about the wiring on the firewall soon.
Brew - like you said the car just flies. Triple digits come way faster than I'm accustomed too!
rede30 - the exhaust is really nice and quiet, it sounds like a stock e36 m3 for the most part. The muffler is hung using the stock e30 hangers under the car. It sits a little toward the center and isn't aligned properly in my rear bumper cutout. otherwise I'm happy with it.
Thanks for all the good words guys. I've spent a lot of time researching in the forum for the last couple of months and r3v turned out to be a pretty awesome resource. It's great to finally get out there and drive it a little bit.
