Double check my wiring harness adapter before I solder it tomorrow please?

How come? Having a friend who solders as part of his day job doing HVAC solder it with his fancy setup. What is the down side to soldering? I'm unfamiliar really.

If you know how to solder properly, and you plan on shrink wrapping all the joints, I'd do it. It'll be a long lasting reliable connection.

Soldering was never meant for automotive applications... Look through your car and find a "factory" solder point... Only one youll find is on a circuit board or to supplement a crimp. HVAC and and some industrial applications can use it very reliably because of lack of extreme climate change, vibrations, etc.

Ive soldered loads of wires on stuff over the last 10 years. Even built a few wiring harnesses.

Soldering makes wires brittle. Solder connections can break with time in vehicle applications due to vibration.

Did you ever get this sorted? My wiring diagram (86 eta to obd1 s52) looks almost identical which gives me hope that I'm headed in the right direction.
