How much did you spend on your swap?

I am at $2450 and I have almost all the big pieces. The only thing that number doesn't count is the tranny and driveshaft and the exhaust, which is going to cost me big, probably. And the S50 cams. I hope to get the brake system installed this weekend, I don't really want to wait until the day of my swap to pull it off, since I need to install a new clutch pedal, too. Auto FTL.

The little stuff is killing me now... $200 for misc hoses, clamps and brackets.

This fucker better be worth it.

I got my M5 m/c for $120 shipped. W00T! Not even a hookup, www.rockauto.com had it $20 cheaper than BMA and $100 cheaper than OE BMW dealer cost.

I totally forgot about my S52 exhaust manifolds. Add $70.

There's no way I'll be able to put a hard number on this... I am actually probably more like $3k in. And I only paid $1200 or so for the car.

Plus I work at a BMW dealership, so that $1k would be $1500 or so for anyone else. Plus all the wasted time at work ordering ~200 items from BMW.

Probably around... 8-9 grand. But that included a lot of stuff I just replaced for whatever reason, not 100% relevant to the swap. Ive probably dumped about 15 grand into my car total.

                    what's the advantage of this?

Also, is there any advantage to using a m5 master cyl over a 750 one; they're both 25mm right?

                            ~$3600 in parts
with lots of good deals. Scored the block casting for free, 3.0 crankshaft, 3.0 pistons for $50, '95 M3 cams for $50, late-model conical valvetrain for $100.

                            Probably 4k in the end

8k but that is with an s50, paying for a lot of the labor, and replacing about everything I could on the motor while it was on an engine stand.

I did more than probably needed, I pretty much replaced the whole drivetrain.
                              Im now E30less.
