    OBDII manifolds with N54 exhaust studs

    who has done it? How many threads are left for the nut to grab once the manifold is in place? Hoping I won't need to put a bb in the hole like some have.

    In the process of putting new studs in my S50 head but thinking of using the N54 studs now instead of the S50 ones.

    They'll work just fine, I have them on the s50/turbo manifold.

        Here's a pic of my s52 with the N54 studs if that helps. They seemed to work fine. Just tedious getting the old ones out!

            Running them on mine. Had to back the ones that go over the SAP delete plates.

            The bb's idea is hilarious, but the stock holes are deeper than the studs can go, and even if the holes are stripped somehow, a small dab of loctite or something seems like a better solution than jamming bb's in the hole.

                what is the benefit of running the n54 nuts and studs vs like e36 OEM s50 exhaust studs and nuts? I was looking to buy some myself, but if the n54 ones are better for whatever reason il use those..

                    torx head, cheaper and about 1/4 inch shorter.

                      Yeah, price and easier to install/remove with the e-torx head on it. The only issue is getting the old studs out without breaking them.
