Gathering parts: anyone want to lend some opinions on trans/diff?

So, I pick up the engine next weekend. This is what i'll have to work with:

-Swap engine (M52B28, already OBDI swapped, running OBDI ECU with RK tunes custom chip for B28 tune)
-Car is an '86 325es with Getrag 260 and 2.93LSD
    -I have a 3.73LSD in the garage

I'm leaning towards just sticking with my 260, and putting the 3.73 in the car when I swap it. However, the person i'm buying the engine from has an E36 Getrag with it for $200 extra. I don't really have any ZF's local to me that i'd trust buying over using my 260, which has 68K on it and I know functions 100%.

The car isn't a DD, but I don't want it to be too unruly on the highway. Should I:
    1) E30 Getrag 260 >> 3.73
    2) E36 Getrag (extra $200) >> 2.93 (or 3.73)

And just to confirm, with the 260, i'd just need the modified cross bar, and to bend the shifter? What's the best driveshaft solution for the E36 Getrag?

Stick with your G260 over the G240.

    I have a 188mm 3.73 R &P I'd be willing to part with for cheap, I swapped it out in favor of a 3.15 R&P. I'm using a ZF320, no overdrive hence the need for a taller R&P.

If your 260 is in good shape I'd recommend keeping it. plenty of vendors sell the necessary pieces to make sure your 260 sits correctly. Also a 260 + the 3.73 is pretty civilized on the highway all things considered. I'll be sending my diff out to be rebuilt as a 3.46 with my ZF, but that just pushes the build price even higher. I say reuse as much as you can and focus on cleaning up the motor with all new gaskets and maintenance items.

Engine and tranny mounts with correct transmission brace for your 260
Condor Speed Shop's Tranny Combo includes our popular 24V swap mounts, a pair of UHMW or polyurethane transmission mounts, and and our aluminum transmission brace!

You'll need a rotated DSSR to make the shifter sit exactly where it did originally. UUC makes one: https://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-3...rsion/?pdk=AQE there are a few other vendors who make one as well as some forum members.

The best part of using your 260 is that you don't need a new driveshaft or guibo adapter.

I bought a Guibo adapter from Revshift to match my m52 and ZF combo to my stock 325i driveshaft.

        IMO: ZF320>G260>G250>G240.

I've seen a couple of bad G250s that sound like marbles or are otherwise trash, and G240's are weak.

This. You could even put ZF310 in front of the G260.

ZF320/310 are more or less the same thing, I don't even bother differentiating
