    Integrated FPR-#6

Oh damn, I stand corrected. I'd never read about that one. That rail is different than the 528i one, but it should work. Idk anyone who has used it, but I can't see why it wouldn't work.

I'm just trying to figure out if I need to buy a new fuel rail other then the one I have now. From what I could see on real oem, all of the m50's had integrated FPR's, the e39's could have either depending on the year, and the m52's from e36's did not have the integrated FPR.

So, if I use the rail I currently have, how do I add an FPR, or do I even need to? I'm thinking at this point it would make more sense to get the m50 rail since it will be easier to fit with the m50 intake and vanity covers supposedly.

Going by the link you sent me the 325's o ly had the integrated FPR up until 01/1995 production date. The M50 rail I have does not have the integrated FPR, and it's from a 95 325. See image.

Just realized I didn't answer your question. If you keep your existing M52 rail you'll have to run the remote FPR setup.

I wonder if at this rate its just easier to get the m50 rail with the FPR integrated and just call it a day. If I am going to have to buy the remote FPR anyways, I have seen m50 fuel rails on ebay for not too much...

some options you might consider -

.have your subframe and oilpan modified by arcasylum - helps avoid oil pickup and clearance problems. also avoids header problems

.getting a wilwood pedal setup will allow you to delete the brake booster altogether. still putting mine together, but pedal force shouldn't be drastically different.

.if you're looking for a plug n play harness the guys at markert motorworks do great work. they can customize and tune your ecu to boot

.air intake - i'm going with the aFe stage 2 cold air intake

yes, these options cost a little more, but i feel they will help me do my build "right"

I looked into the arc asylum subframe initially when I was considering an s54 swap. I think that is just too much though for a $300 motor, lol. From my understanding, with some eBay SS long tube reps I should be able to fit with some slight tweaking, so I'm not too worried about that one.

I am definitely considering markrt motorworks for the tuning and potentially the harness. They seem to have a good rep.

As far as the will wood setup, my understanding was that it wouldn't be good for a street car because of the increased pedal effort. is the wildwood setup that much better then others that it wouldn't be too bad for a street car? If thats the case I will for sure look into it expensive as it may be because I would love to do a RHD ITB setup on this car.

As some other mentioned, for '96+, only the early M52 E39 came with the OBD2 rail with integrated FPR.
After the first bit they switched to the running losses style like the OBD2 E36.

                    So you need either
                    1. Running losses valve to use that rail
                    2. Early m52 E39 rail with FPR. (Feed + Return at rear, fits M52 manifold)
                    3. M50 fuel rail. (Feed at front, return at rear, fits M50 manifold)

The M52 rail needs little tabs made to mount to the M50 manifold. If I remember right, something like 1"x.5" with holes spaced 0.5" apart to line the holes up.

So I'm thinking then since I am going to need to be purchasing either a losses valve or an external FPR, I might as well go ahead and just get the m50 fuel rail with the integrated FPR and not have to worry about mounting tabs,,,

The only things I didn't like about the M50 option was:
They aren't stainless, so mine was rusty.
The front feed meant I had to undo the fuel line to remove the intake manifold... I think a longer fuel line could've fixed this though.

Hmm, good to know. I am trying to weigh all my options before I start acquiring more parts in an effort to not buy and buy again...Has anyone tried an aftermarket fuel rail? Im not opposed to running custom lines with AN fittings.

Hey guys, a few more questions. I have finally ordered all of the components needed to mount the motor physically into the car. I am stuck on a few pieces now.

I have an m52 throttle body. I plan on doing an m50 manifold swap and deleting all the emissions garbage. Can I use the m52 throttle body with the m50 manifold? Will an e34 throttle cable work or do I need something else? Can someone point me in the right direction to deleting all the emissions garbage? I have found so much conflicting info on this.

I see wire harness adapters on a lot of sites. Do I need the entire e36 m52 wire harness and the adapters to make the wiring work?

and hopefully lastly, I am a bit confused about the clutch/flywheel part. I am using the stock e30 trans. What do I need to use for this combo?

                            Thanks in advance guys!

clutch/flywheel. from what i've researched so far i bought an e36 flywheel, clutch, and pressure plate; combined with an e30 throwout bearing for my g260. you will also need a custom trans brace and selector rod with a 10 degree twist (garagistic sells both).

*disclaimer > i have yet to finish my build, so i dont know for sure. hopefully somebody else can speak into this

Cool. I got the trans mount bracket from condor speed shop along with their trans mounts, so good on that one. UUC had a sale over the weekend, so I ordered their twisted dssr for the swap.

I read a few places about using the e36 clutch components but also saw in some places that you needed the starter to match? Anyone know if there is any truth to that?
