Merging is a lot of fun! Folks will try to race you when you're just squeezing into the throttle. The speed builds quickly though, so it's hard to stay out of trouble.

I guess it's my turn to be felonious.
Full interior, Stereo, A/C, 3.73/260, S50. I'm guessing 2850+lbs. Oh, and baby seat (child was NOT a participant).

Rev,
What trans/diff are you using? Geared real short. Topped out in 3rd about 72 (indicated) mph. Shoot, mine'll do 90+@7K in third. Fast tho, climbs the revs much faster than mine..
aeryk7,
You filmed downhill in a hurricane didn't cha? ;) Kiddin', yours is deffinately fast. I tried to sync mine vid to yours and your E30 LTW is definately faster...Goes to show what approx. 400lbs difference makes.

This thread is great! I bet youve convinced a lot of people to do this swap. You got me. And I was ALL about stroking my m20.
As time went on, the factory developed the car each year, making it faster, more comfortable, and capable of handling at higher speeds.
You don’t want this. You want the trickiest, most dangerous, oldest model you can find. Only then can you prove to the world that you’re a man.Comment

I'm using the s50 trans with the e30 m3 4.10 lsd. This is temporary until I can find a resonably priced 3.46 lsd. It's not very practical, but it is certainly fun. Power-slides through 1st and 2nd are pretty easy.Comment
