    What's the current market price for S50/S52?

    A buddy of mine asked me the other day, thinking I would have some clue - which I don't.

    We are talking lower mileage, decent condition long block - preferably with harnesses and ECU.

    Anyone got a ballpark price for me?

        I've been looking again, Bavarian Auto Recycling $6K+ (never), other than them the prices I've found have been $2800 - 3300.

          Please see: crack addicts.

          From what I have seen browsing the forum classifieds and sites like Craigslist, the prices on S50/S52 with <100K and fairly complete seem to be commanding $3K at the minimum. Sometimes less but that could be due to the seller not knowing the value or some scammer trying to pull a fast one on the unsuspecting buyer. Just use $3K as good rule of thumb.

            s50 = 2500 & up
            s52 = 3200 & up

            Those are both complete and good deals. Every once in a while you find one a little less, but not much. Mileage is key.

              Thanks for the info guys - my boy money shifted his e36 M3, and was given a $12k estimate for replacement. This will be good info for him. Now his search begins.

                Most shops charge in the area of 1500-2000 labor just to replace a lump.

                            Prices for s50's have gone up in the past year or so, probably due to the e30 guys buying them up. I see s50's going for more then early s52's with similar mileage.
