Motor is in but have issues !

So far the IX booster is hitting the shaved obd 1 manifold . the fuel lines are hitting the booster , the upper heater core hose looks as if it will never fit . I tried a shim under the Drivers side about 7/16 and it helps the manifold to booster clearance . Could someone post a few close up shots in and around you IX booster master with no shims .

I have e28 m5 grey mounts left and right with e36 arms .
trans is all lined up shifter and driveshaft are fine .

With so many using the IX set up I must have something off a bit

    HELP !!! THANKS

the 320 booster gives you more room... bend the heater core hoses down and away from the engine to give more room(be careful they are brittle). use rubber flexable fuel lines that miss the booster and just keep frimmin the manifold to get it to fit. It SHOULD fit with out shimming.

The Porsche 924/944 boosters are a better option than the 320i booster. The shaft is already the same thread pitch as the E30 and just needs to be cut down to fit.

The days of recommending the 320i booster should be over.

I wonder what the 924 booster will feel like? That's the one unknown, but I guess with a vac can that you can get a little better feel, right?

I saw in the Euro motor booster setup thread that you're going to go with that custom dual master setup. TRICK!

The 924 boosters came in two sizes based on what I found in the Ate catalog, 8 and 9 inch dia. Early builds got the 8 inch and later builds got the 9 inch. Both have the same shaft dia. and thread pitch as the E30.

I feel that the 8 inch booster with the stock master cylinder and the vacuum reservoir would provide a very acceptable pedal.

The dual master assembly the I am having fabbed up will less than 8" long (including the masters), think 4x4x8 box for a rough fitment guide. It will be bolt-in and require no fabrication what so ever.

I am going to be making these on an "as needed" basis, but if I can get a few interested parties, I should be able to offer them with some sort of "group buy" discount.

Its a red replica I built in around 2001 sold it on EBAY to a guy in INDIANA and regretted it , bought it back about 3 years ago . I just love the look and wanted more power . The car is a full steel conversion with all m3 suspension and OE parts .

Green mounts = 65.8 mm height

Measured from face to face, not including that little tab on the bottom for location. Also, that's a fresh motor mount that has never had engine weight compressing it, since the design looks like it will compress over time.

It's not how you handle the good times, but the faith you keep in the bad that defines you.

944 booster installed with 1/4 inch plates on both sides and all is well .
The 944 booster needs to be cut and rethreaded but is otherwose bolt in direct fit .

                              sorry for the ressurection..

but, for the Porsche booster, i do want the early model right? and it doesnt matter b/w 924/944... is the vacuum res really needed? and i can use the stock MC! thats a plus..

now for the mounts, where is everyone getting these green ones from? any recommendations on a urethane mount?
