That's what AKG made for me, I love it, totally clean and works great. But he's local as I said so I just gave him the whole harness. Oh, and I spent about $200

soldered mine with the help of a friend and everything works as it should. i did it all offa the info on this forum. took maybe 2 hours including researching the wiring diagram. i suppose if your time is really valueable then buying the adapter is the way to go, but i would go with the THR harness, and not the AKG with used parts and electrical tape...

That's what did me in. Called Zionsville=total asses acted as if I was trying to get statements on government conspiracies. Treehouse= Took the time to let me ask questions, gave me honest answers on what different part options I had and the effects, and didn't try to rush me off the phone.

Basically these guys are taking an e30 and e36 wiring harness and meshing the two together, correct?

Does anyone have a diagram on this? I figure with some time and a crimper/solder gun one can do it themselves correct?
How many wires are involved? Maybe 20? not even? Idk just doesnt look like rocket science to me. Are the wires color coded on both harnesses the same? hahah suppose that would be too easy.
Would the bently help on this at all or no?

Yes you mosh the e30 and e30obd1 harness together. Some wires are color coded, some are close to the same color, some are not. A bently will not help very much. Your best bet is to pick up the e30 electronic troubleshooting manule for your year e30 and look for an e36 pinout( unless someone knows if e36 wiring diagrams are available... I dont know of any)

There is a lot in the e36 harness you dont need and can take out and there are a few things that you are going to want to add and move the location of. Then you add the e30 c101 plug onto the e36 harness. Buy an e30M3 firewall cover and use that as your base as to where things need to stick out and be located from one another. Also when you remove the e36 harness from the engine LABEL EVERYTHING!

Slower than shit, not worth the cost to do it. IMHO

You might as well stay with the m20 or do a m10 swap if you really want vroomm...

You would need to get m52 cams if you really wanna go fast. I have some i can trade you for your s52 cams. :pimp:
