Like he said an E30 S52 wil spank a 350Z...bottom line. . I wouldnt even race a 350Z after the first one cause it wasnt worth the waste of gas . I however had some nice wieight savings on my E30
I live in Tampa and have an S50 and S52 for sale as well as a transmission and driveshaftComment

We did a S50 swap in a 88 M3 and sold it for $19,500. A 318is with the same swap is only worth @$10-12,000. If you want a good track car get the E36 M3. The rear suspension has a lot more grip. And you can lighten them up with carbon fiber parts.Comment

o would have gone euro spec if i could have afforded it instead of my s52. and yes buying an m3 is very worth while.Comment

easy swap? Motors are +/-$6500 not including the 6 speed (figure another $2-2500 for that).
All other things being equal...an E30 M3 with a swap will bring more money than an E30 with the same swap. Look at Jason's car....E30 M3 with Euro 3.2- he sold it recently for $20k, that guy flipped it for $25k, and the new owner looks to be trying to flip it again for $30k.Last edited by gobuffs; 01-17-2008, 09:11 AM.Comment

There are some significant differences between the euro and US swaps. Namely EWS-II, oil pump, header/subframe interference, and the brake booster.
I would expect prices to be higher than what I paid last year due to the crappy exchange rates.Comment

i think it about a 4 grand differnece for an euro spec coversionComment

Decisions decisions....awfuly hard to justify paying double what I bought the car for for a motor trany etc...however it would take another three years to get an m3 in the setup I would like and thats if the price of m3's dont increase which I suspect they will. Damn I really want a m3... who doesnt.... but dont know if I can wait 3yrsComment

i just have to settle with my s52 in the e30 maybe some day an m3 e30Comment

Plus, A non-M weighs less too. I'd reckon to bet that my 1984 318i w/ s52 obd1 will have a weight advantage even against a sport evo m3 with an s52.Comment
