Damn, I went over board and got the MZ3 S54 triple core with a 16" pusher and no A/C. I normally see temp of about 175 driving around and that highest it has got has been like 199.

When did you see 199? TX gets just as hot as LA, if not hotter in the summer. Now you have me worried about running the little 318 radiator.

I saw 199 when I had to make a trip to the bank for work around 3. I think it was like 85* last week when I went. I had to wait in line for about 15 minutes to make the deposit. Hell, at the AutoX, turning off the car between runs, I was only seeing about 185-190. But I was getting serious intake air temp heat soak, I think it got up to about 130 and I had my hood popped between runs with my fan running.

Ya, almost positive it's a 16", barely fit on there.

          And yes, no A/C.

The stock aux fan is ~15" across. It looks like I could fit a 16" in the stock location even with the condenser in place. You say the 16" barely fit without a/c? :?

There's probably an inch extra at most if I remember right.

i just used a new Behr m20 radiator, and 75deg T-stat with a 12" spal pusher, and my car stays super cool. actually i only need to turn on the fan if i hit traffic or am in an area with stop signs on every single block.

Ill get you the part number when im home (idk my com crashed, might not have the spread sheet anymore)

But you can get an aux fan temp switch that goes in the radiator that turns the aux fan on at about half on the gauge. Its perfect.

I have the 318 rad, 75* t-stat, 2 bottles of water wetter, and that fan switch. I run at 1/4 and in traffic it gets to 1/2 where the fan kicks in and it goes right down to 1/4

Ill get actual deg numbers when my cars running again :)

The fan switch is the 80/88 temp switch from the 95 318ti. It's the same one I am using. It RARELY actually has to come on. Then only time I have actually had it come on on its own was when I had the car running just sitting while I was working on it.

no fluid sensor. The 318is did not have a check panel, at least mine didn't.

Yeah, no check panel on the m42 cars. No coolant level sensor or oil level sensor.

If your anal about the light and dont want to take the light out, you can jumper the pins.
