My post was somewhat misleading :)

What I meant to say is that I want to run the stock AUX fan that is in front...without having to add an electric fan like a Spal or something.

If its a bad idea I'm open to suggestions because I'm still in the process of building.

Oh, I think the thermostat I got is the 75 degree also.

I have a nice Spal on the front of the radiator wired in to the stock wiring. It comes on by itself as needed. :)

I found two kits.

The one from bimmerworld: around 75 bux.

This simple kit allows you to remove your engine cooling fan. By lowering your engine operating temperature with a cooler thermostat and turning on your electric auxiliary fan at a lower temperature, proper engine cooling is still maintained, without using engine power to spin a second fan. Kit includes:

* 80degC thermostat (optional)
* alternate aux fan switch
* seal ring
* 1 bottle of Redline Water Wetter


The one from understeer:

Eliminate the engine driven fan on any E36 323, 325, 328, M3, Z3 (pre-9/98 2.8L and '98-'00 3.2L) or '92-'95 318. Special lower temperature fan switch and thermostat allow you to safely run only the auxiliary electric fan. Removing the engine driven fan will free up horsepower lost to parasitic drag and eliminates the possibility of radiator, hose, wiring and hood damage due to fan blade contact if you experience a broken belt, failed water pump, radiator hold down or engine mount. Kit includes: 80c thermostat, 80/88c fan switch, water pump thread cap nut (seen above), two bottles of Red Line Water Wetter, switch sealing ring, thermostat o-ring and profile gasket. All parts are brand new, genuine BMW parts, no inferior "OEM" parts.

I suggest keeping a spare relay in your fuse box though - I burned one out after sitting in traffic for 5 hours on a hot day, fortunately it didn't happen until I was in my garage.

yeh i keep 3 of them in there :)
