    The offical m50 swap thread

    Ok so my track e30s m20 spun a rod bearing, about 2 weeks ago so i decided to a do a m50 swap, i have every part i need ordered, im running it with the stock 260 trans, what i have is the, the e24 hex motor mounts, e36 arms, a custom made trans brace, and a e21 brake booster and few other parts im forgetting as its 3 am, i pulled the m20 out today, heres pics of my progress.












    Of course the standing in the engine bay shot.




    sorry lots of pics but im excited, m50 should be going in next weekend


    heres a pic of whats going in hehe, only has 98k but the head is fresh, completely rebuilt top end ftw

      i already have a new fender, the current one is thanks to wonderful drivers in the University of Hartford parking lot, the new fender, is going on after the swap and that side is getting resprayed so its blended.

            Looks good. I like the cage, would be a fun track toy to have an m50'd e30.

              Two words: Load Leveler! It'll make install much easier. And you can do the install with the tranny on when you put it in. Otherwise, good work! looks spiffy!

              Status: HG repair. 488wtq though!

                      motor swap on sandals = bad idea. good luck otherwise its gonna be fun! load leveler or make a contraption with towing straps will make your life 100x easier
