S52 from a 98 M roadster

Is this a good candidate for an E30 swap? Can I use the gearbox that comes with it?

I believe that uses a ZF tranny. So youd need a 328 or 98 M3 (both manual) (u join style only) drive shafts or an E30 M3 drive shaft. You can use the stock x member and E21 mounts (I did). The rest IIRC is a regular swap.

98% of my swap parts came from that engine...a/c compressor is also lighter than other s52 ;d

Z3 Front Spindles! Is this a worthwhile 5-lug option for the front end? Off topic I know, has this (specifically geometry differences) been discussed anywhere else? I'd love to do it but want to keep the front geometry. Also, there's someone trying to flog a full H&R coilover kit nearby that I've been too scared to get...

same geometry...see the 5-lug subforum. btw your e30 has no 'spindles' per say, its integrated into the strut so read carefully...i'll give you an overview though. swap control arms, spindle, struts/springs (or c/o), calipers, rotors (they are huuge 315mm vs 260mm), sway links. done. get the damn car!!!!!!!!!!
