It is forged I know that so I'd pick it up if you know you can make a stroker using it. More displacement than the 524 and easier to replace later on if you accidentally run too much boost.Originally posted by Aptyp View Postcool, any one pics of forge/cast marks?
This actually bugs me now. i got an opportunity to go pick up a 2.8 crank, but it's 1.5 hours away. $200. I have to choose between m52 or 524td crank. Since my little m20 is going turbo, I need a forged one.

get the B28 crank. $200 is a good deal, it's both stronger and lighter, and you get another 3mm in stroke. I wouldn't touch a diesel crank with a 10 foot pole, personally. let other people waste $300+ on that boat anchor..Originally posted by Aptyp View Postcool, any one pics of forge/cast marks?

You will need to figure out something for the crank nose seal if you try to use a DOHC crank...Originally posted by nando View Postget the B28 crank. $200 is a good deal, it's both stronger and lighter, and you get another 3mm in stroke.
