    Electric fans

My car currently has an s50b32 with the Euro radiator and no fan.

At the track, my car lasted all day without overheating. Temps stayed about 210* the whole time.

Driving through the hills the other day I got stuck behind slow people and my car kept overheating and I had to pull over and let her cool down.
I want to wire up a Spal fan to toggle switch. I heard though that pullers are much more effective than pushers, but I don't have much room between my radiator and motor.

What size fans are you all using? I was thinking about getting one of the low-profile 9" Spal pullers. Sound like a good plan? Anyone using this size? Will it be enough?
    Thanks

    Erik

I'm using a 16" Spal pusher, works very well. I also have a 318is radiator which a 16" fan barely fits on for anybody wondering. :)

IIRC I have a 14" pusher from a local auto parts store (read: nothing special...was like $75) installed on my S50B32 with a Zionsville radiator with no issues....oil cooling OTOH is a bit more difficult to deal with.

Erik check out the fans from http://www.siliconeintakes.com/ they are like $25 for a 10 inch 1250 CFM fan. And only $30 for the 14inch 1800 CFM. I want to try it out bc the price is so cheap.

ran 1300cfm 16" 2.05" thick puller fan in my previous car and was a little worried about overheating at track events, i would run the heater sometimes.

now, 3600cfm 16" pusher that barely fits on my somewhat tweaked rad support frame. needless to say my car will never overheat. be carefull when you look for it on ebay. verify the p# with the zirgo website. pz...^^yeah run it on the a/c circuit tis the cleanest way!

Do you need to pull the AC condensor for the 3600cfm 16" to fit?

Or will it fit in place of the AC fan with the AC condensor still in place?

It looks like all you guys are running pushers. Maybe I'll just get a pusher as it will be a lot easier to fit. I'll take some measurements and see if fitting a puller is even possible in my car.

I don't have any detailed shots, but here is a picture someone took at the last meet. I also still need to attach the stainless heatshield around the tips on the sideskirt.

Any issues fitting the puller in there? I don't have a heater anymore, so that's not an option.

I had a Mocal cooler up in front of the radiator (sharing the front of the radiator with my fan). I5t was suggested I relocate it out from in the front of the radiator. I bought a Setrab cooler that is about 6 inches square and put it behind the passenger headlight (removed lights). I am thinking of putting another one below it under that shelf over there. Will know more after hitting Road Atlanta and Watkins later this month...but temps will be less than they normally are in Texas.
