is there a ews delete chip for the obd2 setup or not?

do we need to get the stage 2 kit from turner motorsport for it to work.. or is there just a chip...

With OBDII you cannot use "chips." Software has to be loaded onto your ECU. So yes, you can delete the EWS from the OBDII setup, but it cannot be done using a "chip." It requires software.

so if i have the dme ews ecu and key from the same car do i need to worry about the ews or not...

I believe you also need the ring that goes around the ignition cylinder.

The ring does not have to be from the same VIN, it's just a glorified antenna.

Yes. You are going to have to delete it, or wire it up.

yeah, I believe bimmerworld, turner and active all can do it. Somewhere there's a thread about deleting it, where they talked about the shops.

I just called THR and talked to John. He said send the ECU to AAW and have them delete the EWS.

On a sidenote he is a really nice guy and talked to me for a while about getting my car to pass emissions, what other stuff i would need, and obdI vs obdII. If he will talk to me that much without me paying him anything, i can only imagine how good their support is after i buy the harness.
