Sure it will, if you either get the Dr. Vanos upgrade, or simply the vanos limiter that bimmerworld sells, works fine for street and track applications.
Again this has been a rare occurrence for those that take their engines up to the 7400 rpm rev limit that the bimmerworld tune used to come with. They will give you a 7k or 7200 rev limit if you ask and then you'll be fine.
P.S almost every one of the prior engine failures due to sunbelts were caused by over-revved engines with stock valve springs and retainers.Check out Undr8d Empire on Facebook: www.facebook.com/Undr8dEmpireLlc

vanos is variable timing system right? so as the timing changes the valves will open more so the engine will run more efficient. when this happens with the sunbelts the valves open to far and stay open to long causing the valves to hit the pistons. this is my basic understanding of the problem.Comment

Not so if they are timed right (hence the Dr Vanos suggestion).vanos is variable timing system right? so as the timing changes the valves will open more so the engine will run more efficient. when this happens with the sunbelts the valves open to far and stay open to long causing the valves to hit the pistons. this is my basic understanding of the problem.Comment

this again is with the stock vanos system. not with dr.vanos.Comment

Well Dr. Vanos isn't a bad idea, along with new springs and retainers, which has proven pretty full proof for the Sunbelt cams. Plus Bimmerworld insists that you install their Vanos limiter which essentially does the same thing as Dr. Vanos, but with your preexisting unit. This debate has been covered heavily on bfc and I've had the pleasure of reading it all. Verdict is that the Sunbelts are better overall.Check out Undr8d Empire on Facebook: www.facebook.com/Undr8dEmpireLlc
