you get what you can afford at the time. Might not be the right decision. A better decision might be to wait til you can afford the right solution. Not the gotta have it now mentality that is why we are in our economic mess. :-)

No, a good analogy for our mess would be everyone buying Schricks and putting them on credit cards, even though they only make in one month what a set of Schricks cost :)

Getting what you can afford at the time is what would have kept us out of this mess!

Well I'm having the guy that grinds IE's camshafts, grind my cams to Sunbelt specs. Then I have an awesome tuner that is going to adjust my cam gears and custom dyno tune them for me.

It's been proven that adjusting the cam gears properly with a good dyno tune on the Sunbelt cams, can yield up to 278whp!!!

Why are schricks the "wrong" solution?

If I can afford schricks now, and not sunbelts, why would I wait and save the 2500 I would need to buy sunbelts, and pay another 400 to have them installed? My head is out, I can install the schricks now at no added cost (other than the cams). That just makes more sense to me...

Sunbelts are not that much difference in price from the Schricks are they?

Cam install, with the tools you can buy (or I think rent from Dr Vanos), is a DIY.

Springs and dr vanos so the sunbelts dont make your engine explode?

Yeah, my discount for having a bro who deals for turner, and the fact that I cant/wouldnt trust myself to doing a cam install for the first time, on a car that will be tracked the weekend after this is finished (yeah its only HPDE 1, but I need to drive to buttonwillow and back, no fuck ups... dont really want to be stranded in bakersfield)

Also, Schricks are 1100 from turner, and sunbelt wants you to run the valve spring kit or you have to have Dr Vanos do some shit.

Its the extras from sunbelt that makes them uber expensive.

I assume with the sunbelt race cams, you actually keep making power until 9500? I know with the stock engine, you start losing power at anything over around 6900-7000.

LOL. You have to be kidding right?

As time went on, the factory developed the car each year, making it faster, more comfortable, and capable of handling at higher speeds.
You don’t want this. You want the trickiest, most dangerous, oldest model you can find. Only then can you prove to the world that you’re a man.

It would depend on the rest of your build. I don't think the bottom end would enjoy that. And I'm sure the stock manifold and head ports wouldn't allow enough air through. I was just joking about the 9500 thing, it's what Bimmerworld advertises the Sunbelt spring kit can handle.
