i don't have my camera back yet.(lost in another airport) but i just got my flywheel/clutch and trans on. all seems be fit good, what about the little bolts that use to go in the oil pan? they don't line up so do i just use the 4 big bolts that go to the block and the 2 big ones for the starter? and not bolt to the oil pan?

I have no idea about the bolts as I'm using a zf tranny but, do tell me how that 81 mk1 servo works for you? Is it a "fag" brand servo that I always see? Colored like a light gold hued steel? IF you could snap pictures it'll help me. I was thinking of using a mk2 gti golf one, but didn't want to hack the push rod, but it seems like I should. Let me know.

ya i didn't think the couple little bolts would make a difference going in the oil pan, and i did change the temp sensor it fit right in.

another little update... m42 out, working on swapping the rack and booster now.

how much of this insulation do i remove, and i bend the pipe's for the heater hoses??

i have a booster from a vw it will bolt in my car but the rod that goes in the mc is not as long as it needs to be so I'm not sure what to do for the booster now.....

might be able to make something to extend it...

wow i haven updated this for a wile. any way its going good. almost done really. used a e21 booster and got a new clevis and made it work 100% better then grinding down push rod to thread it, might make a kit for shorting push rods. motor trans drive shaft, diff is in. all i need to do is hook up fuel lines and I'm going out now to find a lower rad hose. need to make my wiring adapter too. some pics...

                        trans mount i made....

doesn't look too nice it's kinda over kill but it will work i think....

my shift rod i made. welded a threaded rod in one end and a nut on the other. put a lock nut on it play with it tell i got it the way i wanted it then welded it all up, and added weight to it for more feel.

                        going in...

                        booster...

                        ...........

i didn't get the other pics on the computer yet i will later tonight. more of the booster and the pin i made. and what ever else i get done today.

old vs new clevis.... new one is modified and a new pin machined for it...

                          in the car...

                          and more pics of progress....

what do i do with this wire? it went to the fuse box on the e36. not sure it might be for the auto box so i might not need it???

this tag is on it not sure if it helps...

that's all for now, tomorrow ill get my lower rad hose on and fuel lines done. then i need to figure out the hose for the coolant reservoir, figure out where to put the wire for the abs. then see if it will start....

On the E36, that cable goes from B+ to the starter and the fuse box. If you open the plastic wiring harness box, you will see that a single fat power cable branches off into two cables inside the harness box.

On the E30, you retain the stock fuse box power cable and preferably use the E30 starter cable, as it already has the proper lug to fit on the cable that runs to the trunk. Personally, I just excised that cable from the box, and used the E30 starter cable.

that sucks i don't have it any more it went with my motor and trans i sold. i put an adapter on the power wire from my battery so the wires on that side will fit. so i just don't get where to run it too now? or can i just do nothing with it now? kinda confused...

                              Thanks for the help Jeremy

You can just put that on the starter hot lug and forget about it. You may have to drill it out a few mm. That wire can carry a lot of current and it's unfused, so you definitely need to attach it to a power, or completely remove the wire so that there is ZERO chance it will touch anything vital.
