I replaced my FPwith a walbro. I love it I know that it will not have any issues with keeping up.

i rock an intank walbro 255. you need to replace the fuel lines with higher pressure ones. I kept blowing the feed lines (4 lines total) with regular hose. I used marine 200psi hosing and caled it a day. My Walbro is rated 84psi at the lowest flow rate.

quiet, gots about 8k miles on it, works 100%. paid $60 for it on craigslist. screw oem.
        No more e30s for me.

^ Any idea which model number pump I need?

Also, what's the cost on the Bosch 044 pump?

Real 044s are about 3x as much as Walbros. Beware imitations...

ebay. in-tank. search under bmw that's it. All the 255 have the same flow vs pressure curve pretty much its a differece in package size, cross flow/straight flow (S.F. is what u want). You can really mount any of these pumps on the stock e30 pump/sump. beware of stock fuel lines.

If you're having fuel line issues, your pressure is too high. Probably because your FPR can't bypass enough fuel for your "upgraded" pump.

use a 4 pin 30 amp relay. 1 pin gets 12volt from battery, 1 gets grounded, 1 is switch ed power in(factory pump power) and the other goes to + on pump.

MR 325... Is the pump you are talking about the one that's all over eBay?
the transfer pump sits in the tank with the fuel level sender right? isn't this the fuel pump? i may not be familiar with the term "transfer pump" ...so if the two are really the same thing let me know!

mine hisses like a mother fucker but its a brand new fuel pump

I have an early model e30. They have two fuel pumps, the first one in the tank is a transfer pump and sits together with the fuel level sender. Then, there's an inline pump next to the fuel filter in front of the rear driver wheel well.

What about the ground on the fuel pump? and the negative on the plug?

I think you're going to want battery + to go to pin 3 on that relay, and power in to pin 2. That circuit doesn't make sense otherwise.
